Background/Biography
I was born and raised in Wisconsin and was blessed with parents that always encouraged and supported my athletic endeavors. I’ve always had a passion for mountain biking every since I was a kid. While my brothers were jumping their BMX bikes I was timing myself on a circuit course around the neighborhood. I got my first real mountain bike when I was 12 and started racing when I was 14. I’ve consistently been at the top of my age group in both road and mountain bike disciplines ever since.
From 1998-2002 I competed in the Wisconsin Off Road Series and was part of a high school mountain bike team, when very little of the country even knew what mountain biking was. Every summer I’d compete in the International Cycling Classic, AKA-Super Week, a national caliber road races series lasting 21 days. When I was 18 I did what any kid with a passion for cycling does and that’s move to Durango, Colorado to attend Fort Lewis College. Durango has allowed me to pursue my passion for cycling and childhood dream of living in the mountains. At Fort Lewis College I earned a degree in exercise physiology and became a USA cycling certified coach. 12 years later I’m still living and working in Durango and pursuing my passion for cycling and living in the mountains and proud to be part of a great community. I’m self employed and work as a general contractor in the Durango area.
